Leica Disto D2 Laser Measure for Measuring Blinds

If you are the person responsible for gathering initial jobsite measurements, you probably work alone and need to be able to work quickly and accurately and then move on to the next job.

In a worst case scenario, you need to be prepared to measure wide spans to the nearest 1/16″, from a ladder, around obstacles, in a room with low light, without a helper. The Leica Disto D2 Laser Distance Measure allows you to do all of those things.

My own personal favorite time (and money) saver is the flip-out end piece used in conjunction with the maximum measurement function to measure window opening diagonals when checking for squareness in preparation for a shutter installation.

Watch the video to see what else this sweet little tool can do.

The online reviews of the Disto D2 give it consistently good grades for accuracy, ease of use, being very well made and having a 3 year replacement warranty.

Almost all of the reviewers thought it was pretty pricey, but once they had a chance to use the tool, they agreed it was a good value for the money.

Another common complaint was that the battery compartment is difficult to open. Apparently the documentation isn’t too good. Someone put up a YouTube video on the topic. It doesn’t look like it’s very hard to do once you know how.
